  • Job Description

    Under direction, develop, code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software. Work with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems, resolve customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements. May be involved in the development of software user manuals and demonstrate software. Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and two to four years of related experience. •Experience in the area of software development/software engineering •Experience implementing engineering criteria and developing software and tools to operate in real-world environments •Experience preparing technical documents, which include software test plans/reports •Experience in analytical evaluation of software performance in realistic operational environments and scenarios and in conducting software testing at multiple levels (unit, integration, system), performing analyses to predict and quantify software constraints, and defining/designing corrective measures

    National Agency Background Investigation required. This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

    Required Skills

    Required practical experience:
    •Object oriented programming
    •C#
    •WPF (XAML)
    •Version control (preferably git)
    •Client/Server architecture design
    •Multi-threaded application design

    At least one of the following skills/experience is highly desired:
    • Experience in the areas of software development in support of Navy, Joint, and Multi-national Operational Spectrum Management or National Administrative Spectrum Management data exchange formats
    • Experience in the development of automated software, algorithms, and tools to identify and mitigate EMI of Navy RF communications, combat systems, electronic warfare systems, and navigation aids
    • Experience in the preparation of technical documents, which include software test plans/reports and analytical evaluation of software performance in realistic operational Navy environments and scenarios • Experience conducting software testing at multiple levels (unit, integration, system), performing analyses to predict and quantify software constraints, defining/designing corrective measures, and operational implementation of software systems in the U.S. and allied Navy operational environment
    • Experience updating/maintaining fleet spectrum coordination documentation for programmatic requirements, operational publications
