Polaris Alpha Advanced Systems, a Parsons Company, is seeking a mid-level software engineer with aptitude to learn new technologies and work independently to develop backend services for an existing SOA project using Java, REST, JSON, etc. in support of the government customer. The candidate will also implement algorithms and software libraries. The position will be onsite at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. Must be able to work both independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment. Good communications skills a must.

This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense secret level security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented languages.
Knowledge of REST and network protocols.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or related field 5 plus years of related experience
