    Job Description

    The Tax Accountant is responsible for the maintenance and preparation of tax records and tax-related schedules and reports for a government contractor and its wholly-owned subsidiaries. Income tax returns prepared by our independent CPA firm will be analyzed regarding payments and refunds, and the costs allocated to various affiliate companies in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations. Responsible to file returns and make payments on time. Prepare routine to complex accounting reconciliations and analysis related to tax payments, as well as prepare journal entries as needed. Prepare paperwork for local property tax and business license returns for submission within specified deadlines. Assist with international tax issues and collect data if necessary. Research State and Local Tax (SALT) issues if needed. Collect, monitor and analyze changes in local, state and federal regulations to ensure work processes are in compliance with those changes.

    Required Skills

    B.S. in Accounting with a minimum of 8 years corporate tax experience.
    Critical thinker, self starter.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    Intermediate Excel skills

    Desired Skills

    Active CPA license
    Government contractor experience

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
    Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
