  • Job Description

    Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts. Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

    Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 8-10 years of experience.

    General Responsibilities:
    • Provide IT and cybersecurity support to project
    • Perform vulnerability and configuration compliance assessment scans and remediate findings
    • Support RMF documentation and artifact generation
    • Administer standalone classified and unclassified lab networks
    • Administer classified and unclassified RDTE systems
    • Perform market research and assemble procurement documentation for IT-related equipment and services
    • Track equipment inventory
    • Implement physical security controls (Open Secret Storage OSS) policies and procedures
    • Media Transfer Agent (MTA) activities (transfer of classified information to removable media)

    Required Skills

    Must have a minimum of 6 years experience with Linux system administration and experience with the following:
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu
    • PDQ Deploy, PDQ Inventory
    • Computer hardware and component troubleshooting
    • Network infrastructure (cable, switch, patch panel installation. basic Ethernet networking)
    • Cyber Workforce Management Program (DoDD 8140.01 & DoD 8570.01-m)
    • Implement DoD Instruction 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT)
    • DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Security Requirements Guide (SRG)
    • Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Content and Tools
    • Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) (Tenable Nessus & Security Center)
    • Department of the Navy (DON) Application & Database Management System (DADMS)

    Certification Requirements:
    • Baseline Certification: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
    • Linux Certification LPIC-2 or equivalent
