    In an increasingly complex technical and operational global security environment, Polaris Alpha provides advanced technical capabilities, specialized domain expertise, and mission critical solutions to the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers.

    We are seeking a Software Engineer to participate in on-going research and development (R&D) efforts at one of the Army’s R&D Centers of Excellence.

    Our candidate will collaborate across a multiple function team to integrate software components into a larger system, participate in the development of test strategies, participates in planning, coordinating, scheduling, directing, and controlling engineering and technical support activities applicable to systems' development.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline
    • 5-10 years’ experience in the design, development, integration, and implementation of software systems such as application software, utility software, development software, and diagnostic software
    • 5+ years’ experience in the design, development, and implementation of software systems such as application software, utility software, GUI interfaces, and models and simulations
    • Specialized experience as a software engineer or systems integrator performing systems and/or software engineering analysis, design, development and integration of multiple architectures
    • Experience developing in Python, C/C++, Java, HTML, XML, SQL, JavaScript
    • Experience in the design, develop, and test of software algorithms, applications and components
    • Experience with developing and implementing custom software algorithms and applications in combination with COTS and GOTS software applications
    • Experience with coding interface messaging software components
    • Excellent communications, problem-solving and coordination skills
    • This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense TS/SCI level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

    Desired Skills

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
    Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
