    This position is in the Knowledge, Intelligence and Reporting Information Systems (KAIS) Directorate and is focused on the development of a globally deployed software solution supporting diverse user communities. You will have the opportunity to participate in real-world, cutting edge intelligence and reporting capability development. You will responsible for the development and/or modification of software products as part of an agile team leveraging the principles of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Use expertise to design, develop, code, test, and debug software. Review and evaluate systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety. Confirms design mitigations are captured in the design and its documentation and verifies implementation. Reports to the System Architect and works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative.


    Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline and 2-7 years of experience in software engineering; applicable training and/or certifications may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree
    • Experience with application containerization, such as Rancher, and open cloud-based architecture and computing.
    • Experience with standards-based web design using HTML5 and CSS3
    • Knowledge of Web Services (e.g. SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, HTTP, AVRO)
    • Experience in solving various software related problems, generating and reviewing software designs for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness in light of objectives.
    • Experience designing scalable web applications with experience in Java backend development, Java Persistence API, Java Application Servers, Messaging (RabbitMQ).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and desire and high level of self-motivation to deliver stellar operational solutions and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.

    Required: Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance which requires US citizenship. Preferred: Secret, TS/SCI security clearance

    Desired Skills

    • Experience developing Web Applications from the ground up
    • Knowledge, understanding, and experience with Agile software development life cycle practices such as Scrum, XP, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
    • Working knowledge of Elasticsearch/Lucene, Jenkins, Maven, NPM, Docker, Rancher, Spring, Mongodb/Cassandra (No SQL databases), Angular 5+ and TypeScript, Electron
    • Experience
    • Familiarity with full DevOps toolchain (JIRA, Gitlab, Jenkins, Fortify, Artifactory, Docker, Docker Swarm)
    • Experience with AWS GovCloud and/or C2S

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
    Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
