Job Description

Polaris Alpha provides cutting edge solutions development based on the latest advances in open software design and integration. Polaris Alpha develops sophisticated data visualization, event analysis, pattern detection, mission planning and mobile software using net centric and enterprise architectures. No job is too large or too small. This position is for an Information Assurance System Engineer. The candidate will have the responsibility of supporting all fielded versions of operational systems, future upgrades (versioning) of those systems, and future products. The candidate will serve as the Information Assurance technician for all operational sites.

• Implement current and applicable DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process for Information Systems (IS).
• Maintain accreditation status of IS.
• Implement current DoD Certification of Networthiness processes for all IS.
• Provide Information Assurance site assistance to all operational sites, and serve as the Program’s coordination point for information and identity security reporting to all operational site Information Assurance agencies.
• Coordinate system vulnerability scans with Information Assurance agencies.
• Register system software with the appropriate government agencies.
• Experience in supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, the Enterprise Project Management Requirements process, Government Risk and Compliance (GRC) process.
• Support security/interoperability testing events on multiple security boundaries.

Required Skills

• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Candidate must possess a current Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s in technology related discipline or equivalent experience may be accepted in place of degree.
• Thorough understanding of network topologies.
• Experience and understanding of network ports and protocols.
• Experience with government network firewall exception procedures.
• Experience with creating system, network diagrams (OV, SV, etc.).

Desired Skills

• Security + Certification
• Certified Information System Security (CISSP) Certification
• Familiar with Microsoft and Linux Server OSs
• Familiar with Docker, VMware, Rancher, SQL, Mongo, PostgreSQL, technologies and software.
• Experience with Scaled Agile Software development methodology
• Experience with JIRA

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
