Polaris Alpha Cyber & SIGINT division is seeking a Computer Network Defense Analyst to help monitor critical operational networks and help improve overall system security. The candidate will be assisting in coordinating and executing improved monitoring and intrusion analysis across mission infrastructure. The selected analyst will use tools like Bro IDS, Nessus vulnerability scanner, Snort, tcpdump and Splunk to perform continuous monitoring, intrusion analysis, and reporting.

Required Skills

• The candidate needs to have a strong background in computer networking, computer network defense, network monitoring, and intrusion analysis. It is highly desirable for the candidate to have knowledge in host-based computer defense/analysis and scripting in a Linux or Windows environment.
• Eight to eighteen years of experience in computer science, computer engineering, engineering, mathematics, or related discipline.
• Five years of experience in engineering and program processes (CM, AQ, Risk management, reporting) software development methodologies, planning, designing, and analyzing processing and storage retrieval systems on a mid to large-scale.
• Operational experience with Cyber or Cyber support
• Familiar with coding as it affects system development, including knowledge of how C++, Perl, and Java work (not expected to code).

Desired Skills

• A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering may be substituted for four years of general experience.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
