Job Description

Tasks will focus on the development and enhancement of Java based enterprise applications which support the Space Situational Awareness and Command & Control missions. You will have the opportunity to participate in the design and development of a real-world, mission critical Space Situational Awareness system which is changing how the Space community is doing business. You will be involved in the implementation and support of the core SOA infrastructure and other critical application functionality, as well as the integration of third party services into the system.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline with 0-4 years of software development experience
• Java/J2EE software development skills
• Knowledge and understanding of software agile development life cycle processes
• Knowledge of Web Services (e.g. SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, HTTP)
• Experience in object-oriented analysis and design techniques
• Experience using and designing Service Oriented Architectures
• Experience with Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools (e.g. Maven, Git, Jenkins)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative and distributed team environment
• This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Business Process Management (BPM) Tools (e.g. Activiti, jBPM)
• Knowledge in at least 1 scripting language (Python, AngularJS, Javascript, Groovy, NodeJS)
• Experience with development on both Windows and Linux platforms (CentOS, RHEL)
• Experience with full DevOps toolchain (JIRA, Gitlab, Jenkins, Fortify, Artifactory, Docker)
• Experience with J2EE Application Server development experience (e.g. Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat)
• Familiar with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to include Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
• Experience working with relational databases, ODBC/JDBC and SQL (Postgres, Oracle)
• Existing TS security clearance with DCID eligibility


Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
