Job Description

EOIR Technologies, Inc. (A Polaris Alpha Company) is seeking a customer-oriented, senior-level systems engineer/data scientist with experience and technical capabilities to support the U.S. Army Night Vision and Electronics Sensors Directorate (NVESD) at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Candidate should possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific/technical field with seven or more years of relevant experience. The candidate will provide onsite systems engineering and data science support for a biometrics sensors integration laboratory (BSIL) at NVESD. Candidates should have engineering and data science expertise for current and future BSIL work for onsite customers and must be willing do hands-on work in a lab and/or field environment. Should also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work both independently as well as with a diverse laboratory team. Must be able to clearly communicate results of analysis and development and recommend new approaches and technical solutions.

This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense secret level security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

Required Skills

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in software architecture modeling (UML, SysML, DoDAF) and software tools for modeling (MagicDraw – primary tool, others good to know)
• Must be able to generate system engineering documentation/artifacts (OV-1's , SV's, SvcVs, etc.) to describe how software systems exchange data, information, services etc.
• Strong familiarity with software communication standards, systems interfaces, and system of systems engineering
• Familiarity/Experience developing software architecture models for acquisition programs (platform independent and platform specific models)
• Experience with state machines, process/activity diagrams and data translations/mapping between software systems
• Familiarity with agile development and model driven architecture
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, independent judgment, and strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a broader engineering team
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, science, or related technical field required
• Minimum of seven years of proven experience in systems engineering, data science, or technical field with application of desired skill sets
