Operate computer-controlled machines or robots to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic work pieces. Supports the Expeditionary Laboratory Material Engineer in executing the developing, fabricating, and assembling of rapid prototyping and provisioning of limited production and assessment items and identifies and procures commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions. Modifies COTS equipment and test and develops technology protocols, product demonstrations, technology evaluations, and reporting activities. Provides maintenance, supply, logistics, training, and sustainment support to the customer. Makes platform modifications, and user and/or operator training documentation in accordance with the developed prototype requirements. Makes improvements and enhancements to communication systems. Supports the following technologies and systems under this task: Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems; C-IED detection systems including both vehicle and handheld variants; Culvert denial IED defense systems; Red-team functions including evaluating insurgency tactics and counterfeiting technology; Radio frequency and communications technology; Force protection systems.

Required Skills

BA/BS plus 5 years’ experience. 6 years’ work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree; or Associate's Degree plus 4 years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Must have prior experience in Afghanistan or Iraq

Receive DoS uplifts on first 40 of each week

This position on requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
