We are seeking a Senior Radar subject matter expert (SME) to participate in on-going radar research and development (R&D) efforts at one of the Army’s R&D Centers of Excellence, CERDEC I2WD, at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland.

As a member of the EOIR team, the Senior Radar SME will have opportunities to influence the next generation of radar systems and signal / data processing technologies applied to Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), (Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR,) and Moving Target Indicator (MTI), and Force Protection (Counterfire Target Acquisition (CTA)) radar systems. The SME must be a Senior Engineer with relevant experience in radar systems, technologies, and signal and data processing. The SME shall provide technical expertise, mentoring and advice to government and contractor engineers in the following:
1) systems engineering
2) laboratory and field testing
3) concept evaluation
4) technology evaluation
5) measures of operational effectiveness
6) knowledge of both low and high frequency radar systems
7) advisement and engineering technical support
8) training and mentoring of junior engineers
9) perform trade studies

Required Skills

• BS (MS preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or similar field
• 15+ years’ experience in radar system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysis
• 15+ years’ of systems engineering experience
• 15+ years’ of experience in the development of test plans, procedures and schedules, conducting tests, and generating reports detailing laboratory and field tests/demonstrations
• Provide technical training and mentoring in a wide variety of radar and radar-related topics.
• Experience in writing test procedures and data analysis, including customer acceptance testing in radar systems.
• Experience in using MATLAB and LabView
• Understanding of C/C++/C Sharp, or Java programming languages to develop algorithms and M&S environments
• Experience in reviewing engineering design documentation (as part of the configuration control and design process) and interface control documents
• Experience in the preparation of technical reports, technical briefings, technical drawings, performance work statements, system developmental schedules, performance specifications, and requirements documentation

This position requires an active Department of Defense TS/SCI level security clearance, which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.
