Job Description

Polaris Alpha (“Polaris”) provides advanced technical capabilities, specialized domain expertise and mission critical solutions to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers. The Company has approximately 1,300 employees with major offices in Colorado Springs, CO, Fredericksburg, VA, Annapolis Junction, MD, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, and Alexandria, VA as well as customer sites both domestically and internationally.

Our team is looking for a thought leader in the Space community who can help develop our corporate strategy in this rapidly growing industry. As Strategic Advisor, you will utilize your domain knowledge to help us promote our existing capabilities, identify new opportunities, design innovative solutions to some of the Intelligence Community’s and DoD’s toughest problems and show them why we are the right team for the job.
Expectations:
Becoming an authority on our Space mission solutions and core competencies
Networking with industry and government leaders in the Space Community
Assisting in the evaluation of opportunities to ensure resources are optimized in the pursuit of new business
Leading business intelligence efforts within the Space Operations business area
Developing and evaluating teaming opportunities with industry partners
Interfacing with corporate Strategic Initiatives and Marketing teams to promote the Division’s brand and capabilities
Assisting with developing the strategic vision for the Space Operations Division
Leading the development of contract proposals and managing them through to completion
Learning about other capabilities across the Polaris Alpha enterprise that could be leveraged in pursuit of new opportunities
Assisting with the day-to-day management of programs on an as needed basis to include interfacing with customers, developing requirements, managing program financials, scheduling and reporting

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business, engineering or a related discipline and minimum 3-5 years working in business development with demonstrated success in capturing new business
In-depth knowledge of IC/DoD Space capabilities and programs and a firm grasp of the community’s challenges and priorities
Working knowledge of IC/DoD acquisition policies, procedures and requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate highly technical information to corporate leadership, industry partners and prospective clients
This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense TS DCID eligiblity security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

Desired Skills

Direct work experience supporting space programs in the NRO, NASA, STRATCOM or DoD
Working relationships with existing and/or prospective customers in the IC/DoD Space community
Background in program management and/or systems engineering supporting IC or DoD programs
